Description: J. B. Owens Art Pottery ‘Utopian’ ware lamp base / vase, form no. 12, decorated with hand-painted autumnal coloured leaves on a dark brown, burnished brown, and reddish-brown ground and the whole enhanced with a high gloss glaze.
Condition: Antique, Very Good
For Accuracy: an antique it may show expected light signs of age. While this form contains an integral hole for a cord it was sold as a vase; the hole is to accommodate conversion devices that were popular at the time (they were sold as lamps as well, there is zero indication that this lamp base / vase was ever fit with hardware. The decoration is extensive and colourful.
