Coalport Porcelain was established in 1795 by John Rose, it continued until his death in 1841. Rose is thought to have trained at the Caughley porcelain manufactory, which Rose would eventually take over and move to Coalport. Wose also acquired Nantgarw and Swansea porcelains greatly enlarging the production range. After Rose’s death Coalport traded as John Rose & Co until 1880 when Peter Bruff rebranded as Coalport China Company. It was aquired by Cauldon Potteries Ltd in 1925, moved to Staffordshire in 1926, and in 1967 it became part of the vast Wedgwood group. (Wikipedia)
