ARTIST BIORAPHY: RENNIE, John Barrie (Canada, 1900-1972) Rennie was a naturalist and lover of the outdoors for most of his life. During his long career, he traveled throughout Canada (with A.Y. Jackson, Ralph Burton and George Thomson, to name a few) and the West Indies, painting flowers and landscapes. EDUCATION:A scholarship student, he studied at the Ontario College of Art under A.Y. Jackson, Arthur Lismer and J.E.H. MacDonald; Art Student’s League, New York City; Mexico, under James Pinto and Fred Samuelson.
