Limoges

Antique dinner set with embossed rocaille borders and reserves in green and gilt decorated with elaborate scenes of hunting game, imported from Raymond Laporte, Limoges, France, and retailed by the firm of Abram French, Boston, Massachusetts, 1805-1884 who were also affiliated with Tressemann & Vogt, Limoges, France. The cartouche on each plate is decorated with an elaborate scene of either a game bird pair or deer pair; four are similar but display subtle differences in execution. All are finely hand-painted.
