LAMPMAN, Mary (Canadian, 20th Century). Lampman resides in the Niagara area of Southern Ontario and has trained and travelled extensively to deepen her understanding of painting, including with noted Group of Seven artist A. Y. Jackson. Interested in Ontario’s endangered structural buildings, Lampman is best known for her historic subjects of barns and mills. This covered bridge is a true rarity. Currently there is one working covered bridge in Ontario (Waterloo) and a handful in varying states of retirement.
