ARTIST BIOGRAPHY: Yvonne McKague Housser (Canada, 1898-1996) CM, RCA, CGP, FCA, OSA. Founding member of the Canadian group of Painters and the Federation of Canadian Artists. Housser studied at the Ontario College of Art under George Reid and J W Beatty, at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere, Academie Colarossi, and Academie Ranson. Taught at the Ontario College of Art and Design, the Doon School of Fine Arts, and Ryerson University. Inivted to exhibit with the Group of Seven on several occasions Housser would join them and be a founding member of the Canadian Group of Painters.
