Newport Pottery Co (England, 1927-1964+) Clarice Cliff (England, 1899-1972) Celtic Harvest Bowl, circa 1937-41 9 1/4" diameter x 12" widest x 3 1/2" high Notes: Fine gently moulded and hand-painted serving bowl in the pre-war ‘Celtic Harvest’ pattern, designed by Clarice Cliff for Newport Pottery Company, England, c. 1937-41. The ample-sized round bowl is decorated with a central band of repeating hay stooks placed symmetrically on a deeply embossed cream ground, flanked with figural “fruit bunch” handles hand-painted in bright polychrome enamels.
