ARTIST BIOGRAPHY: Susan Andrina (Ruttan) Ross (Canada, 1915-2006) CM. A Canadian painter Ross is primarily known for her work in the First Nations, Northern and Arctic Canada. Studied at Ontario College of Art. A friend of Norval Morrisseau, Morrisseau’s portrait of her is held in the National Gallery of Canada. She was close friends and travelled extensively with Sheila Burnford and mounted the first art shows of Daphne Odjig. (Wikipedia)
