An Italian / Venetian / Murano hand blown glass vase designed by Archimede Seguso (firmly attributed), unsigned, made of clear glass cased with opaque white lattimo & gold aventurina glass, 10 inches high with cover (8 ¼ inches without) x 5 ¼ inches in diameter (the cover 5 5/8 inches in diameter), circa 1950. The vase is of hour glass shape with an off centered waist bound by an applied orange with aventurine ribbon 7/16 inches at its widest point with a clear glass knot, within which are two strands of white flanked by orange meandering inclusions. The flat cover is topped with a lattimo & gold aventurine ball raised on a clear glass stem and there is an applied clear glass rim on the underside to keep the lid from sliding off. There are two minuscule fleabites on the vase edge.
