Chamberstick – Newlyn – Pair, Fish

Summary: A fine pair of Scottish Arts & Crafts copper, leaf shaped candlestick, with repoussé decoration of two large fish symmetrically flanking the candle holder on a hammered ground. The loop handle with parallel repeating dot border is riveted to the leaf at the back end of the crimped “pie-crust” edge.

 Dimensions: 10 ¾” long x 6 1/8” wide x 2” high

 Markings: Unsigned but a well recognized and known form; not all examples of Newlyn are signed, identical examples of this form are have been found with Newlyn signatures.

Condition: An antique, it is offered in excellent original condition including the original patina. This is a plus as original patina is often polished out of period Arts & Crafts copper.
