Beautiful Rookwood pottery vase, 7 inches high x 4 ¼ inches diameter, # “938D•”, decorator’s initials “C. S. T.” / Charles Stewart Todd (1910-1922), dated 1917. The ovoid shaped vase is covered with a matte salmon glaze, with incised decoration on the shoulder further enhanced with a multi hued glaze.

The base has impressed the Rookwood logo consisting of reverse “R” + “P” monogram surrounded by 15 flames and below this: “XVII
938D•
C. S. T.”
CONDITION: Very good vintage condition. On close inspection it has the normal very light crazing found on antique pottery. Also there is a very tight slightly darkened glaze line on the interior of the rim ⅝ inches long. This does not show on the outside of the vase and is not a crack. There are 4 or 5 short very light reflective glaze scratches that only show when one pivots the vase from side to side to reflect light then they appear a very light gray.
