British George IV sterling silver stuffing / serving spoon, ‘Fiddle’ pattern, 11 ¾ inches long x 2 ¼ inches wide, made in London by James Beebe, circa 1833. There is a large very ornate initial “A” on the front of the terminal.
Total weight = 112.4 grams ÷ 31.104 = 3.6+ troy ounces.
The following touchmarks / hallmarks are impressed vertically on the back of the terminal:
1 – “JB” maker’s hallmark for James Beebe.
2 – Lion passant denotes sterling silver.
3 – Leapords head – Town mark for London.
4 – “s” date code for 1833
5 – Duty mark – head of King George IV (1822-1833)
CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition with no damage of any sort. The hallmarks are crisp and legible. There is a large very ornate letter “A”engraved on the front terminal.
