Royal Doulton stoneware tankard with hunt scene appliqués finished with a sterling silver rim made and applied at Henry Wigfull, Sheffield, circa 1903. Around the upper body three vignettes are placed equidistant around the circumference and around the base a stag is being chased by a succession of hounds, at the end of the line is the horse and rider blowing the hunting horn and giving chase.
Markings: impressed on base with 1902-1922 King Edward VII Royal Warrant backstamp; “2599” form number; 1903 “d” date code
Condition: Antique, Very Good
For Accuracy: an antique it may show expected light signs of age.There is a single minuscule 1/16” ping to the glaze at the base, else it is in excellent antique condition. The hallmarks and touchmarks are clear and legible and the appliqué crisp.
