Description

Notes: A Henry Birks & Sons Ltd early 20th Century Art Deco style sterling silver ring box of round form raised on three applied
spade feet, made circa 1928. The lid has a vacant oval central cartouche set within an engine turned field contained within scrolling foliates; it has never been
personalized, monogrammed or further engraved. The underside of the lid has a vermeil finish and the body contains inner blue velvet fitting for 5 rings and a larger area for other jewelry.

Markings: Base is marked “BIRKS / [Birks pseudo-marks for 1928] / STERLING”

Weight: 194.1 grams (with fitting)

Condition: It is a period Art Deco object in superb original condition. For accuracy only: the velvet shows discoloration from wear at the extremities but the blue of the interior remains deep and clean; the lid rises ever so slightly when shut, it does not rise above the closed position and remains secure; the vermeil finish has the slightest of scratches in one spot – these are all common and expected, overall it is in better condition than most found. The hinge is in perfect working order and the box closes firmly. It has never been monogrammed or personalized in any manner. Ready for use and display.
