Notes: Black forest hand-mirror with hand-carved entwined foliate decoration and “knotted” handle, c. 1900-1920. The fully reticulated trompe l’oeil body is carved from a single piece of wood inset from the reverse with a mirror (the mirror held in place by a tacked piece of chamfered wood).
Dimensions: 12 ⅞” Length x 6 ⅝” Width; 4 ⅜” Height x 3 ⅛” width (mirror)
Condition: Very Good Vintage Condition – no damage, no repair. For Accuracy Only: there are signs of wear to the extremities, these are expected signs of authenticity. There is a short section missing near the top, given its patina it appears to be original from manufacture. The mirror appears original with no chips and a clean clear image.
