Rare and unusual American sterling silver example of The (New) Schick (Repeating) Razor, made 1926-1932, in Superb Condition with original mint fitted leather box containing the razor case with razors and instruction booklet. This razor has a square sterling silver body with fine hammered finish, swivelling head with open comb guard and a pull knob on bottom. When the knob is pulled out a tray inside the handle is revealed into which a magazine clip packed with 20 single edge solid blades is inserted. Once the magazine is inserted one can change a blade simply by swivelling the head and pulling the knob!
The original Schick Repeating Razors were made by the American Chain and Cable Company for the Magazine Repeating Razor Company in 1926. When Col. Schick decided to follow the dry shave road in 1928, he sold his interest in the Magazine Repeating Razor Company to American Chain and Cable, who continued to make and develop the razor until 1945.
