Description & Notes: Emily Telizyn original watercolour, c. 1977. Known primarily for large scale installations (architectural scale stained glass, mosaics, and sculpture) Telizyn worked on a wide-ranging body including set design and production for major networks, such as CBC, and large scale theatre productions. The abbreviated nature of this watercolour indicates a possible connection to the latter, rather than as a stand-alone painting. Please see our other listings for a similar artwork.

The viewer is offered an abstracted and stylized vignette depicting a singular figure within a contained columnar space. The radiating light, which is also the physical medium of the paper, offers buoyancy to what would otherwise be a heavy structure and enhances the epic subject matter.
