Notes: Canadian expressionist painting titled ‘October’ by Alberta artist William Lewy Leroy Stevenson (Canadian, 1905-1966), a member of the Alberta Society of Artists (ASA) and Canadian Group of Painters (posthumously). Often referred to as an ‘avant-garde’ expressionist landscape painter, Stevenson painted with broad heavy brushstrokes and a sense of spontaneity. The scene is composed of a wide stream flowing from the foreground back, completely surrounded by bright orange trees with low dark mountains in the background, all below a moody sky.

For Accuracy: a vintage painting it may show expected light signs of age. The colours are strong and it is ready for display.
