Summary: Rare Antique ninth plate thermoplastic daguerreotype case embossed with a radiating geometric pattern around a central oval cartouche with scrolling foliate outer border, #3-287 in Nineteenth Century Photographic Cases and Wall Frames, Second Edition, by Berg, pp. 269. In 2003 60-150 copies of this case were known, it is considered difficult to find.

For Accuracy Only: there are some light nibbles at the exterior, some light wear to the velvet cushion, and a small chip to the back top right inside corner; the hinge is just slightly loose but retains its integrity. The clasp is excellent
