SUMMARY: Daniel Crichton (Canada, 1947-2003) iridescent amber luster form vessel made of free-blown glass, circa 1980. The ovoid saucer form has a compressed and raised top and is finished with an abrasive and acid etched treatment. A comparable vase is found in the Bronfman Collection at the Canadian Museum of History, Box 608, F7. (see pics)

My work as a vessel-maker has not been driven by technical virtuosity, but by a search for an inner voice, a place of equilibrium In an increasingly opaque and paradoxical world. I find myself often engaged in a dialogue about space and time, and for me this discourse has its roots in the very real interaction of the interior space, the internal emotional/psychological space with the exterior form and surface which records the mark, movement and pattern over time, personal and geological time.”
