Description: A fine ‘Pompeian’ vase with pinched sides in an amethyst glass with frit and iridescence made at the Dugan Glass Company in Indiana, Pennsylvania, c. 1904-1909. America’s answer to the popular glasses coming out of Bohemia this line of mold-blown decorative glass also goes by the names ‘Japanese’ and ‘Venetian’. Often underrated it, like Loetz, Tiffany, Kralik, and other glass makers of the era, emulates the aesthetics of ancient glass with regularized free-forms, coloured translucent glass with iridescence.
