Description: A fine ‘Pompeian’ double gourd vase in celeste blue glass with opal and light blue frit and golden ribs made at the Dugan Glass Company in Indiana, Pennsylvania, c. 1904-1909. America’s answer to the popular glasses coming out of Bohemia this line of mold-blown decorative glass also goes by the names ‘Japanese’ and ‘Venetian’. Often underrated it, like Loetz, Tiffany, Kralik, and other glass makers of the era, emulates the aesthetics of ancient glass with regularized free-forms, coloured translucent glass with iridescence.
