Historismus Drinking Horn

Description: A Bohemian historismus drinking horn of green glass likely made at the Anton Ambrose Egermann Workshop, Haida, Bohemia and then decorated at J & L Lobmeyr, Vienna, Austria during the later half of the 19th Century. The decoration of a large a raised enamel coat of arms situated within a field of white enamel florets and finished at the mouth and tip with white borders, and strung up at two integral glass loops with decorative cord. The coat of arms is possibly German, possibly spurious.
Markings: unmarked, this type of green glass with historismus style and white enamel decoration, is typically attributed to the Egermann workshop, with many examples further signed by Lobmeyr. Egermann is known to have supplied glass to Lobmeyr who are renowned for their enameling.
Condition: Antique, Very Good
For Accuracy: insignificant wear, as expected on an antique drinking horn. There is a single small chip at the very tip. The enameling is raised and well executed. See photographs.
