SUMMARY: Danish ‘Labrador’ vase in a soft yellow olive, designed by Per Lutken for Holmegaard, dated 1959.
Per Lutken was a master of the subtle. The sensuality of the cylindrical form is revealed in the transparency – as light passes through the thick walls of glass the soft curving internal form and rounded lip rim emerge from the highlights and shadows of the amber tone.
DIMENSIONS: 4 ⅞+” high x 1 ⅝” diameter
MARKINGS: inscribed on base, “Holmegaard” / “19 PL 59”; polished pontil
CONDITION: Excellent Condition.
These vases are commonly found in smoke and blue glass, the olive glass examples are scarcer. It displays beautifully.
