Notes: Bohemian Josephinenhütte ruby glass portrait vase with baluster body, on raised foot and decorated with an all-over field of gilt dots and entwined foliate, the large oval opaline glass medallion features a fine head and shoulder portrait of a young woman with blue eyes and red drop earrings wearing a white gown and veil, possibly a commemorative wedding portrait, is showcased in a heavy gilt border with repeating diamond pattern, it is unsigned, there is a single gilt inscribed “4.” inside the foot, made in the pre/cusping-photographic period c. 1840-1880.
