Description & Notes: Matched pair of autumnal tumblers made of cranberry (ruby) glass and decorated with polychrome enamelled oak leaves (yellow, blue, green, and pink) surrounded by composite gold enamel and entwined gilt foliates garnished with high karat gold. This traditional Moser pattern is indicative of the high quality enameling done during this period; any piece of glass that did not meet the high expectations was immediately destroyed at the glassworks. A single acorn remains intact showing the extent of the precision and depth in the relief modelling.
Dimensions: 4” height x 2 ½” diameter
Markings: unsigned, well-documented décor and form; flat-polished pontil
Condition: Good Vintage Condition – there are five missing enamel acorns on each glass, else the leaves and foliate are fine with only light rubbing to the gilt at the high points.
