Description: An American Arts & Crafts inkwell with old brass finish, made by Roycroft, in East Aurora, NY. It is being sold as is, the body is good but it is missing the floriform lid.
Dimensions: 2 ¾” diameter x 1 ½” high
Markings: impressed on base with Roycroft middle mark
Condition: Antique, Very Good Condition – missing lid.
For Accuracy Only: there is a slight dent to the upper edge, this is barely noticeable and does not affect the integrity of the item. The finish is very nice with minimal wear.
Artist Biography: Roycroft (est. 1895), East Aurora, New York. A reformist community of craft workers and artists they formed part of the American Arts and Crafts movement. Founded by Elbert Green Hubbard (1856-1915), a writer, artist, philosopher and publicist they strove for the highest quality artisan objects.
