Description & Notes: American 19th Century sterling silver magic pencil charm made by Aikin Lambert & Co., New York, with a deep twist barrel and a ring for attachment as a fob (watch /chatelaine /necklace), circa 1890. Aikin Lambert had close ties with Watermans and was eventually absorbed by the company around the turn of the century. Originally a jewelry company they are often considered to be of better quality.
Markings: impressed with manufacturer’s name on inside extension shaft, “AIKIN LAMBERT & CO”; impressed with “STERLING” purity mark around end cap
Condition: Excellent Antique Condition – no damage, no repair with very little age and use wear, only what is expected on such an item. It has not been cleaned and is offered as found to preserve the patina for future generations and the buyer’s personal preferences.
