Notes: A novel Black Forest folk hand-carved flat-top trunk form stamp box with hinged lid. Each side (except the base) is beautifully carved with an intricate pattern contained and the top with an additional central raised floral medallion. The trunk illusion is completed with two faux-straps with buckles carved around the body to give the impression the box is secured. The interior is divided into three compartments with a slanted wood ramp for easy removal of the individual stamps. It is constructed entirely by joints with no nails or other metal hardware used outside of the hinges; it dates circa 1890-1910.

Condition: It is offered in Excellent Vintage Condition: guaranteed free from damage or repair. Only light signs of wear commensurate with age are visible and none are notable in any manner. The box is clean with a soft rich patina and Ready for Use and Display. It would make a wonderful addition to any collection / interior.
