Notes: An American sterling silver (with gilt wash) bracelet in the Arts & Crafts style, (10 11/16”) 7 ⅝ inches long x ¾ inches wide, made by Danecraft (Providence, Rhode Island, Est. 1934), and retailed by Birks, Canada, circa 1940.
The bracelet consists of five identical rectangular panels with rounded corners, each depicting a delicate and elegant reticulated stylized floral with foliage motif, joined together by narrow reeded band connectors. The original clasp consists of a jump ring with attached spring ring that attaches to the panel at the opposite end of the bracelet.
Markings: The back of the end panel of the bracelet has attached an oval signature plaque which is impressed in its center with a sharp centered “C” within which is a lion’s head with extended tongue facing dexter (left). Above this is “DANECRAFT and below it is “STERLING”/ REG’T.”
Condition: Very Good Vintage Condition – no damage, no repair. It has not been cleaned and offered as found to preserve the patina for future generations and the buyer’s personal preferences.
