Notes: Scottish ‘Shield’ brooch decorated with Celtic knot design made by Robert Allison, Glasgow, c. 1944 after the Celtic designs of Iona silversmiths Alexander & Euphemia Ritchie. Allison became heavily interested in the Ritchie’s work and studied and appropriated many of their designs.
