Notes: Attributed to the artist and designer Paul Dachsel this monumental candlestick utilizes new scientific discoveries and non-traditional techniques through the ‘Drip Glaze’ and hand-finished biomorphic form. The cream and brown ground is enhanced with a colourful rainbow of blue, rose and green glazes over an organic structure designed to function as a sculptural candlestick with double bobèche and buttressed handle and column.
Markings: impressed AM-3 ‘AMPHORA’ oval backstamp, ‘3544’ ‘C’ and AM-11, c. 1900-1904.
