Description: A fine early 19th Century style watercolour on paper laid on card depicting a small rowing party, wearing the customary striped shirts, red neck-ties, and straw boaters. Three men are shown on shore, two lounging under the shade of a sheet and one standing and waving a red and white striped triangular banner. Three additional rowers can be seen, in matching outfits, sitting in a boat at the edge of the water, two clearly visible and one slightly obscured by shrubbery. Two tall ships are seen in in the distance as well as a tree-lined shoreline. A tall unusual building, Japanese in appearance, can be seen on the far shore to the right.
