Ross R. Hugo (act. ~ 1934-1952), Newmarket Art Club. Sent significant time painting around the Haliburton and Aurora areas of the Province of Ontario and frequently Exhibited along side OSA and RCA artists such as W J Hopkinson, Frank Deniston, Fred Hagan, and Clement King.
It is observed of Hugo: “His compositions seemed unbound by conventionalities and his use of tonal values were true in portrayal of the countryside of which Haliburton was the background for much of his work.”
Markings: signed lower left, “Ross R Hugo”
Condition: An early Vintage painting it is in Excellent Condition and retains strong colours.
For Accuracy: an antique it may show expected light signs of age.
