A watercolor and gouache painting by listed Italian artist F. J. Seguino (Italy XIV-XX), untitled “Ca’ Rezzonico Palace, Canale Grande, Venice, Italy”, appropriately signed, circa 1890.
Ca’ Rezzonico is a palazzo that stands on the right bank of the Grand Canal in Venice at the point where it is joined by the Rio di San Barnaba.Today, it is a public museum dedicated to 18th-century Venice and one of the 11 venues managed by the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia. There are many gondolas in front of the buildings on the canal and a tower in the center ground.
It is showcased perfectly in the original and decorative late 1800’s gilt frame, behind glass, that has relief decoration consisting of shell corners and elongated c-scroll sides conjoined by acanthus leaf.
This painting is in Excellent Vintage Condition with no foxing or fading to speak of. The frame shows minimal signs of wear commensurate with age and is Ready for Display.
