Artist/Maker Biography: Biography: CORMACK, Laurel ASA (1935- ). Active in Calgary, Alberta, Cormack studied at the Alberta College of Art, Calgary (1986); and at the Banff School of Fine Art. Working in oil, acrylic and watercolour, she is best known for her wilderness mountain landscapes near Kananaskis and Lake Louise, using bright unconventional colours such as pink for trees and red for the sky. She moved from Ontario to Alberta, and began painting in 1981. Her work is in the collection of the AAF.
