Description: A fine Glasgow School watercolour on paper by Scottish artist Marion ‘Maud’ Gemmell Hutchison (1887-1963). Likely painted en plein air, Hutchison uses light airy and open brush strokes, and dark moody tones to lay an impression of the beach at Carnoustie, Scotland.
Markings: signed lower right, “M. G. Hutchison.”; inscribed label verso (in hand of artist), “On the Beach Carnoustie / Maud Gemmell Huchison (sic)”
