Description: A fine Ernest Walbourn (British, 1872-1927) oil painting. A charming genre painting it depicts a young woman relaxing on a gate and feeding ducks in a pond. The whole is situated within an idyllic rural setting; a laneway passes between her and a quaint cottage to her right and leads into the countryside beyond.

Artist Biography: Ernest Charles Walbourn (England, 1872-1927). Best known for British School Genre paintings in oil. Walbourn exhibited at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, Royal Academy, and the Royal Society of British Artists. Married to Eva Gardner (1906) who achieved recognition for painting the backgrounds in many a Walbourn artwork and is an artist in her own right
