Art Nouveau Ivory Porcelain Pedestal Vase, c. 1905
Gilded, Hand-Painted, Reticulated, Elfenbeipozellan
10 ½” high x 5” diameter
Notes: The elegant baluster pedestal vase is decorated with a bouquet of polychrome flowers tumbling over the shoulder and body, with highlights edged in raised gilt. The elongated neck is flanked by two elaborate reticulated Art Nouveau buttress handles rising to rest under the floral textured rim. The Austrian influence is immediately apparent in the refinement and ornamentation of the classical form.
Markings: AM-1 Reissner, Stellmacher & Kessel ‘TURN-TEPLITZ BOHEMIA RStK’ c. 1893-1903; AM-3 impressed ‘AMPHORA’ within an oval c. 1905-1938; impressed ‘591’ / ‘14’
Condition: Excellent, Antique
For Accuracy: an antique it may show expected light signs of age. There is a production chip on the foot, this is not damage as the gilding shows no indication of repair, this is how it left the factory. Overall the gilding is excellent with the lightest of rubbing at the edge of the rim and top outer points of the elaborate Art Nouveau handles. The colours of the flowers are strong, the ivory ground clean, and the form refined.
