Description: A fine Karl Tutter designed Springer Spaniel, part of the ‘Tierwelt’ (Wildlife) series, made at Porzellanfabriken Lorenz Hutschenreuther AG Selb (Lorenz Hutschenreuther Porcelain Factories Company, Selb) (Bavaria, est. 1857).
Note: Tutter is known for fine modelling and delicate handling of form. Stopped in mid-stride, with left paw raised in step, the Spaniel gazes outward, tail raised above the level of the back. One can feel the bounce in the spaniels stem and the movement in the long fur and placement of the stance.

Markings: The base of the front left paw is appropriately marked with the Hutschenreuther [HK in circle] Germany green backstamp, c. 1955-1968.
