SUMMARY: Antique porcelain serving bowl, with deep squared and lobed sides, with amorous landscapes and elaborate bouquets reserved on white and blue panels, by Meissen, circa 1850-1899.
DESCRIPTION: The square lobed deep dish bowl with gently sloping sides is decorated with alternating panels of white and blue around a central square; each blue panel with a lush hand-painted bouquet of colourful flowers and whit the white with picturesque landscapes inhabited by a pair of lovers in bright costumes. All panels are unique and asymmetrical and separate by wide scrolling parcel gilt borders. At the centre and corners of the exterior are additional flower groupings on white used to complete the design and enhance the presentation.
DIMENSIONS: 11” diameter x 13 ⅝” diagonally x 1 ¾” high
MARKINGS: marked with blue crossed swords mark on base with two cancellation lines; impressed on base “135” and incised “1.”
CONDITION: Excellent Antique Condition – no damage, unrestored. For Accuracy Only: there may be the faintest signs of rubbing.
