6” high x 5” diameter
Description: A fine hand-painted Royal Bonn portrait vase with spherical body and a raised star form foot, signed by the artist, ‘Baner’ circa 1890-1910. The body is elaborately decorated with bouquets and wild flowers surrounding a detailed bust of a brown-haired woman with flowing hair on one side and on the other a picturesque waterfront.
Markings: marked on base with brown 1890-1920 backstamp; inscribed “3990/1” / “D.6164” / “299”; impressed “2772” / “[Diamond]”; hand-signed on side “Baner.”
Dimensions: 6” high x 5” diameter
Condition: Excellent Condition
For Accuracy Only: there is a single minuscule paint scratch in the greenery to the left of the portrait, else wear commensurate with age as expected. The vase is superb with excellent gilding, fine detail, no crazing and bright colours. The form is unusual and distinct.
