Notes: A matching pair of Meiji period Kinkozan factory Japanese Satsuma vases with two large cartouche panels featuring elaborate scenes of adults and children in great gardens by the waterside, contained within cobalt borders.
Condition: Very Good
For Accuracy: as antiques they may show expected light signs of age and use related wear, there is uniform crazing as is expected with this glaze type. There is some light gilt loss, and a small bruise to the cobalt border on the side of one vase and a 1/16” repair on the bamboo on the other vase, else Excellent with fine detailing and delicate and precise decoration. The scenes on two vases are opposing yet are not identical with delightful and complimentary differences in the details.
