Markings & Attribution: Unmarked, the shape and style of the charger can attribute the body to Sevres. In addition, the accomplished artist “A. Hété” can be found on many pieces of usually monumental and high quality marked Sevres of various styles (traditional, romantic, floral, art nouveau).
Condition: An antique, it is offered in excellent original condition with no damage or repair. For accuracy only: there is (the expected amount of) minimal wear to the gilt edge and a short palm imprint along the edge to the right of the signature – this is not damage and occurred by the artist’s own hand, like a fingerprint, when executing the work. It displays beautifully and is a superb example of 19th Century French Still Life.
