Summary: American Arts & Crafts art pottery vase clad in a heavy armor of patinated copper, made at Clewell Pottery using Charles Clewell’s patented method of plating a clay body in a “skin-tight” shell of metal.
This example has an attractive ovoid baluster form with a tapering body, wide shoulders, a short extended collar neck & rim; the carefully applied patina is a bright multi-tonal green over a rich multi-tonal red.
Dimensions: 7” high x 5 ½” diameter
Markings: incised on base, “CLEWELL” / “456”
Condition: Very Good Condition.
For Accuracy Only: there are a couple light scratches to the surface, else no dents, cracks or damage. The original patina is rich and bright.
