An early and fine Mason’s Ironstone coffee can and saucer, cup 2” x 2 7/8” – saucer 4 ¾”, in the Imari palette emulating 18th Century Chinese export porcelain, marked with the blue transfer print crown and banner used from c. 1815-30. The rare unusual shaped ‘can’ has an extending lip along one side that can be used alternately as a handle or a pouring spout and both pieces are decorated in the standard ‘Flying Bird / Number 6 / Pekoe” pattern that incorporates a lovely bird and floral pattern highlighted with gilt with added colour and an ochre trim.
