Description: A fine early pen & ink sketch of a herdsman with cattle attributed to the listed artist James Ward (England, 1769-1859) RA by Andrew Wilton, Curator of Prints & Drawings, Yale Centre for British Arts, an expert on both James Ward and J.M.W. Turner.
Markings: early hand-inscribed paper affixed verso, “Property of: [Private Collection]” // “Pen & ink sketch of cows, attributed to J.M.W. Turner,” / “more probably a work by James Ward.
