Summary: A British Edwardian silver plate dessert / cake set comprised of six (6) matching forks & knives with mother-of-pearl handles, presented in the original blue velvet and silk lined fitted faux-leather box, made by Harrison Bros. & Howson, Sheffield, England, circa 1901-1910. Each Fork and Knife has horizontally banded decorative bolsters flanked by a beaded border, the forks with a decorative cinched shoulder and four tines, the knives with refined rounded form.

Markings: Each piece of flatware marked with the Harrison Bros. & Howson “H&H” maker’s mark and “EPNS”; the inside top cover is stamped in gold font, “BY SPECIAL / [CROWN] /APPOINTMENT / Harrison Bros. & Howson / SHEFFIELD. ENGLAND. / CUTLERS / TO / HIS MAJESTY.”
Condition: Antique, Very Good Condition – presented in the original box with Harrison Bros. & Howson logo and Royal appointment seal. For accuracy only: the knives may have been lightly sharpened, this has been done correctly and does not detract from the integrity of the flatware; and the extremities of the box show light signs of wear from storage over the past hundred years, this is light and the box displays nicely.
