Fantastic sterling silver Tiffany & Co. Cauldron Mustard Pot made in Birmingham, c. 1959. This classic Georgian form (mid-18th century) features a cauldron body with gadrooned mouth, mask head shoulders, paw feet, hinged lid and scrolling handle. The weight and quality are substantial – a testament to the lineage of the pattern, one made by some of the most notable silversmiths including Paul Storr.
The spoon has the following 4 hallmarks near the top of the back of the stem:
1 – “BROS A LTD” in a triangular cartouche maker’s mark of
2 – anchor is Birmingham’s town mark
3 – lion passant denotes sterling silver
4 – “H ” year code for 1957
The mustard without insert and spoon weights 161.9 grams / 5.2 troy ounces.
The spoon weights 4.2 grams.
CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition with no damage of any sort. The cobalt liner is missing.
