An elegant sterling silver ring box from Henry Birks & Son, Canada, appropriately impressed on the base, ‘BIRKS / STERLING’ and embossed inside the lid with the circular Birks Lion mark.
This is a classic and early Sunray Bell form: the domed lid has 16 concentrically arranged flutes or ‘rays’, the lining is black velvet, and the interior of the lid is gilt washed.
